UAE Promises Easier Visa Access for Pakistanis After High-Level Meeting

Date:

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has secured a key commitment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on easing visa-related challenges for Pakistani citizens during his official visit to Abu Dhabi.

Naqvi met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Lt General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, where the two discussed a range of bilateral issues. The Pakistani minister raised concerns about the difficulties faced by Pakistani citizens, particularly in obtaining work permits and other visa categories.

“We want Pakistani citizens to come to the UAE with ease,” Naqvi stressed during the meeting, noting that relaxed visa policies would greatly benefit both sides. In response, Sheikh Saif assured full cooperation in addressing the concerns and pledged to look into ways of facilitating the process.

The meeting highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two countries and reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation, particularly in immigration, security, and counter-narcotics efforts.

Naqvi also toured the Abu Dhabi Police operations center, where he was briefed on advanced surveillance and policing systems. He expressed interest in bringing similar innovations to Pakistan.

He concluded the visit by calling the Pakistan-UAE relationship a valuable asset and emphasized expanding cooperation, especially in areas that directly impact citizens, such as visa facilitation.
